Teni is the hottest name on the block right now in the music industry. Even if you don’t know this young talent facially, there’s a great likelihood that you must have heard her music playing at some public event or on your TV screens or radio. Popularly known as Teni Entertainer but born Teni Apata, she kicked off her music career in 2016 when she signed to Magic Fingers Record run by the talented music producer, Shiizi.  Not too long after that, she dropped her hit single titled “Fargin” which was hailed for its message to young girls about abstaining from premarital sex. Ever since, she has released more “hit-worthy” tracks such as Wait, Pareke and the very recent Askamaya which has everyone wearing their dancing shoes. Anyone who met Teni at a much younger age would have recognised her as a star in the making because she started doing music at the age of 2, playing drums for past Governors of Lagos State such as Mohammed Buba Marwa, Bola Ahmed Tinibu, and Babatunde. Teni describes popular “Afro-House” musician Niniola who happens to be her elder sister as one of her inspirations and the one who told her to “pursue what she loves”. She is signed to Dr. Dolor Entertainment. Check Teni Entertainer on her social media accounts, you can’t miss her with the tomboyish hair-cut, dungarees, and free size shirts.   Peruzzi

You must have probably heard of the street singer who is known for the slang “Saint Sami Ganja. This is Slimcase, the king of “Shaku Shaku” himself. Slimcase took the industry by storm earlier this year with the song “Oshozondi” which featured DJ Sidez and Masta T. He soon featured with big artists like D’banj, DJ Enimoney, Reminisce, Tiwa Savage, and Yemi Alade on songs like “Issa Banger”, “Diet”,  and many more promoting the “Shaku Shaku” sound in the process. It was not always rosy for Slimcase, who was  a factory worker for many years. Not too long after Slimcase began working in a factory, he went into music as a rapper, but didn’t find much luck in that genre. Eventually, he would find the ghetto sound (wobey and shaku shaku) which would lead him to becoming one of the most sensational artists of 2018. Slimcase’s style of music has succeeded in promoting a new sound in the industry and he doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. The first thing that pops into your head when you hear Victor AD’s recently released song is “hustle”. The street anthem which encourages hustlers to work hard and never give up on their dreams is very relatable to the singer himself. He was the leader of a music band in Auchi Polytechnic where he schooled and was voted as the best artist at a music competition.  His career officially began in 2014 when he released a song titled “Jowo”. However, 2018 was his “breakout” year with the feature  of Erigga on a single titled ‘Motivation’ and the eventual release of his own single “Wetin We Gain”. According to him, he composed “Wetin We Gain” as a cry to God for help when he was at a low point in his life but was unaware of how impactful the song would turn out to be on the streets of Lagos and beyond.
