2018 is the year football fans across the globe have been looking forward to. The 2018 FIFA World Cup finals are scheduled to begin in June and every country participating in the tournament is soon to adopt an all hands on deck preparation mode. Former Internationals, coaches, and players as well have had their say concerning the teams that their countries will meet in the group stages of the tournament, playing subtle mind games against opponents in other to rattle then before the games will begin. Former Croatian international, Robert Prosinecki, has ruled off Nigeria as worthy rivals for his country. Prosinecki believes his country’s current team has all it takes to beat Nigeria and the other teams in Group D of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. The Croatian legend disclosed that his team is capable of beating every team in Group D and also any other team they will face in other stages of the world cup. “If we have a top class – and we have it unquestionably – then we can not talk about Nigeria and Iceland as rivals that can stop us from making it from the group,” Prosinecki told Sportske.jutarnji.hr “Respect and respect absolutely, but with the quality we have, we are far ahead of them. Croatia has a fantastic team, has a long-standing generation that has shown its ambition and character and that is why we are optimistic about doing well in Russia. In France, we were good at Euro, but now we have to be even better.” He continued. “We have to go through the group and that will bring us to the knockout phase. There is no opponent in the group that we cannot beat. Maybe we are not the best in the world, but we are so strong that we can play with everybody and beat them in a good day.” Prosinecki added.
