Working remotely entails the practice of employees doing their job from a location different from the central office established by the employer. Inasmuch as this idea is very appealing, engaging in it for the wrong reasons would only leave you feeling disappointed, if not outrightly frustrated. It’s alright if you decide to work remotely, but have you stopped to ask yourself why? What gets your blood pumping in the direction of remote work? Most people turn on their Google searches looking for remote jobs, because they don’t want to interact, communicate or associate with other people. Just like a distance relationship requires strong and effective communication to survive, a remote worker requires effective communication to be able to achieve work targets and stay ahead of information circulation. Inasmuch as remote workers have the freedom to work when and where they want, they do not have the freedom to work as they please. What does this mean? Most people have the misconception that working remotely means having less workload and doing less. If that’s your mentality, then you might need to think again.
