Last week, I told you that our recipe for the month of February would be rich and self-indulgent. In keeping with that promise, we’ll be discussing how to make chocolate cookies today. I’m sure you’ll agree that this snack is as yummilicious and as rich as it gets. So, you already know that every member of your family will love it.

Ingredients for Chocolate Cookies

2 cups of all-purpose flour 1 cup of softened butter 1 1/2 cup of white sugar 2 eggs 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract 2/3 cup of cocoa powder Baking chocolate  3/4 teaspoon of baking powder 1/4 teaspoon of salt 1/2 cup of groundnut (optional)

How to Prepare

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Get a clean, sizeable bowl. Add the butter and sugar to it. To prevent one bad egg from ruining your cookie plans, break the eggs into a clean bowl first and if they are good, transfer the eggs into the bowl of butter and sugar. Whisk these ingredients until they are light and fluffy. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt. Put the baking chocolates into a microwave-safe plate and melt. Let me mention at this point that it is not compulsory to use chocolates for these cookies. I use it because I love the fact that it makes the chocolatey taste more pronounced. So, if you’d rather not use it, just go with cocoa powder. Having said that, gradually stir in the dry ingredients into the butter mixture until they are well blended. Pour the melted chocolates and the groundnut into the batter and mix. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of the mixture onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake in the preheated oven until it’s set; this usually takes about 8 minutes as the cookies continue to bake on the cookie sheet. Allow the cookies to cool slightly on the sheet before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely. Serve and let your family enjoy and confirm the absolutely divine sweetness of this cookie.
