Nigerian-born Enoh Titilayo Ebong has been appointed by America’s president, Joe Biden, to lead the United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA). This information was made public via a public statement on the website of the USTDA. The statement revealed that the Nigerian who was appointed by the 46th President of the US on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 returns to USTDA where she worked from 2004-2019, holding several positions.

‘The appointment meant a return to USTDA where from 2004 to 2019, Ms Ebong had served in a variety of roles, most recently as the Agency’s General Counsel, and Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer. As Acting Director, Ms Ebong leads an agency that partners with the U.S. private sector to develop sustainable infrastructure and foster economic growth in emerging economies while supporting U.S. jobs through the export of U.S. goods and services.’ USTDA
The Nigerian who previously worked at the Milken Centre for Advancing the American Dream as head of strategic partnerships stated that it is an honour to return to the organization and expressed her belief in the vision of the organization to strengthen the country’s economy and address climate as an important part of America’s foreign policy and national security.

Daughter to Ime James Ebong, a former Nigerian civil servant who once served as a permanent secretary, Enoh grew up in Lagos State, Nigeria. Before joining the USTDA in 2004. She practised law at the Boston office of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris and Popeo, P.C. She also represented public and private firms in financial transactions, corporate governances, mergers and acquisitions, and public offerings. Aside from earning a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School, she also obtained a Master of Arts in Communication degree from the Annenberg School for Communication, University of Pennsylvania. A member of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Bar, and she equally boasts of a Master of Arts in History, with Honors, from The University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
