Pencils n Brushes Artworks (P’n’B Artworks) is a platform that provides visual art and design services. The artworks offered include portraits, paintings, illustrations, graphics/creative designs, handcrafted cards and live art. This Art and Design Start-up company based in Lagos is one of the Top 100 emerging SMEs in Nigeria. In September 2010 two brothers, Ayokanmi and Toluwani Binutu, partnered to form P ‘n’ B Artworks when they saw how visual arts was undervalued and relegated to the background in Nigeria. Rather than complain, they began an Art and Design Service Company to be a safe-haven for like-minded artists. The brand was launched in 2011 and the company registered with CAC in 2012. Since then, they’ve been holding exhibitions, teaching and employing talented artists.

P ‘n’ B Artworks operates in three segments – the Art, Design and Art school. With Art, they create Speed paintings, Polychrome paintings and Pencil art for Occasions and Events. Their event package includes Live performance art where they create artworks in front of a live audience. It could be a painting of the celebrant or the ceremony using glitter or splash painting. This is not to be confused with speed painting which is an artistic technique that requires the artist to create a masterpiece within a limited amount of time. It makes for a great source of entertainment at events like burials, music concerts, send-forth parties, birthdays and weddings just to name a few. They can also make oil painting portraits and capture your wedding day or life as a new couple with illustrations, sketches or caricatures. While the Design aspect of the company creates Graphic design concepts such as wedding logos, invitation and anniversary cards, gift and wedding accessories. using graphic artists. Last but not least is the Art School (called the HIVE) which organises creative workshop and Exhibitions.

At the HIVE, they teach artists how to hone their craft and professional work ethics. In 2013, they held their maiden exhibition themed, “Proudly Ours” to display their sense of patriotism to Nigeria. They also partnered with GEMSTONE Leadership Centre to inspire creative and artistic pupils and students and teach them how to balance their talent with their educational pursuits. P n B Artworks’ desire to foster spectacular art forms that reflect passion, talent, professionalism and ingenuity among visual artists has kept the company going through the years.
