By Adaora Ude I can bet my left arm most of us are snuggled close to a hot cup of coffee or cocoa (whichever your preference) or maybe just a hot cup of tea! It seems the clouds just can’t stop tearing up for hours and hours on end. I hate the rainy season! Yuck!  And don’t tell me the rain comes so crops grow and we have food to eat. I’m well aware of that fact; I don’t live in Mars now, do I? Any ways, yours truly (despite the rain) caught up with the very delectable and charming new rave in Nollywood, Kiki Omeili; and over hot cocoa and coffee (I won’t tell you who had what) Kiki shared herself with ConnectNigeria.com.   CN: Tell us a bit about yourself. Who is Kiki Omeili? KO: Kiki Omeili is a go getter, down to earth, fun loving, happy go lucky and a people person.   CN: So, you trained as a doctor. What prompted the career change? KO: I define “passion” as that desire that won’t let you go. I’d practiced medicine, both clinical and administrative and the desire to do what came naturally to me just wouldn’t let me go. So, I decided to jump into it and here I am. A lot of people have had a LOT of stuff to say, but I’m doing it and I’m loving it. I’m still very much involved in media health, I co- host the health segment on smooth FM’s Saturday morning breakfast show called “Balancing life” and that has also been very rewarding.   CN: Will you ever go back to practicing medicine? KO: I always say it is a possibility. I can’t see into the future. I could make a personal choice to go back or I could just stay put. Who really knows?   CN: Tell us a bit about your acting career. What have you been involved in recently? KO: I’ve been involved in a number of TV series: “Behind the Smile”, “The Valley Between”, “Footprints” and “Nesrea Watch” to name a few. I’ve also been in a feature film “Married but living single” directed by Tunde Olaoye and produced by KAP. The movie is currently showing at the cinemas nationwide and trust me, it is a must watch.   CN: How did you land the antagonist role in the much publicized ‘Married but Living Single’ with A-list actors like Funke Akindele, Joke Silva and Benjamin Joseph? KO: I auditioned for the role and I got it. They were convinced that I could do it. It really was that simple. The aim was to cast both established and upcoming actors and that’s exactly what happened.   CN: You are a real eye candy Kiki. How do you handle male attention in the movie industry? KO: (Laughs) I’m blushing at the compliment. I’ll answer in a moment when I stop smiling. I try to be polite and courteous. Male attention is something that practically every woman has to learn to handle in every industry. Its obtainable everywhere.   CN: A bit about your family if you please? Is Kiki single or seeing anyone at the moment? KO: Hmmm, you know anyone who’s interested?   CN: So, are there any other projects lined up? Where are we looking out for you next? KO: I’m currently on the set of a new series called “Gidi Culture” and I have a couple of other projects lined up that I’ll be glad to tell you about as we go along.   CN: And how does Kiki unwind? KO: I absolutely love watching TV; I can be such a couch potato. I also love to socialize; I’m a big fan of parties and events. I like reading novels and inspirational books. I’m constantly educating myself from books.   CN: Any parting words for anyone reading this interview right now? KO: Yes. There’s only one life to live, do what makes you happy and what gives you satisfaction. People will always have things to say. You can never really please everybody anyway, so go for what you want and don’t stop till you get it. Never let anybody tell you what you can or can’t do.
