American Comedian and actor, Kevin Hart, has shortlisted Sweet Revenge by Nigerian film director Pascal Atuma for his Just for Laugh Festival Top 10 in North America.
The short comedy film which was shot in Toronto, Canada. It was produced by Ola George and Pascal Atuma and stars Lou Daniels, Bebe Obi-Okoye, Naomi Sundiata, Nelson Morris, Wendy German and Razzie Brown-Stone. It tells the story of a Nigerian girl who is in love with a Jewish boy even though both families disapprove. The Nigerian parents think up a scheme that they think will lead to the end of the relationship, but are paid in their own coin when the Jewish family invites them to dinner soon after.
The festival is organized by Laugh Out Loud, Kevin Hart’s comedy brand and multi-platform network, and renowned content leader, Lionsgate.
To select the funniest short comedy in the USA/Canada is based on popular voting. The final winner of the competition is expected to be chosen through an online vote from 9 am, Saturday, July 14, to Tuesday, July 17.
The winning film will receive the exclusive distribution as well as a first look deal with Laugh Out Loud and Lionsgate. Enjoy the rib-cracking Sweet Revenge below.
