Nigeria’s Federal Government may begin to pay allowances to unemployed graduates should a recommendation be given regarding this at the ongoing National Conference and accepted by the Federal Government.
The move is reported to have been suggested by the Committee on Law, Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Reform at the Confab.
Members of the committee urged the government to pay unemployed graduates the same allowance that is given to members of the National Youth Service Corps.
According to a Punch newspaper report, the committee member, who asked not to be named, said, “The recommendation is our own way of finding solutions to the rising wave of crime in the country and to also force the government to make provisions for the increasing number of unemployed graduates in the country.’’
“We have done our part and it is left for the delegates to either reject or accept it at plenary.”
Currently, youth corpers around the country are being paid a stipend of N19,800 monthly.

It is a good idea if Nigeria government can start paying the unemployment graduates, it will reduce the number of criminals. In addition, if they can also introduce the payment of undergraduate students, it will also make education more easier to the tertiary students.
I plead with the present government to impliment such payment to unemployed, also try on power supply, couple with tackling power supply & insurgency then her agenda will be a good one
