The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), has implemented an e-Gov suite made by Newgen Software, a global provider of Business Process Management, Enterprise Content Management, and Customer Communication Management solutions. The implementation was part of Galaxy Backbone’s “1-Gov.net” initiative to build a common Information and Communication Technology (ICT) platform for all Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the Federal Government. Speaking on the implementation, Mr.Gerald Ilukwe, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Galaxy Backbone, said, “Automation of the Memoranda Submission and Executive Council Meeting Agenda Listing processes, using Newgen’s comprehensive eGov suite, was one of the key initiatives that resulted in the United Nations Public Service Awards 2013 for our 1-Gov.net platform.” Diwakar Nigam, CEO, Newgen Software said, “Newgen shares Galaxy Backbone’s vision of a modern ICT environment that supports efficient and effective delivery of public sector services. We look forward to strengthen this partnership, and enable public sector organizations in Nigeria to ensure better service delivery and greater transparency, by use of ICT.” According to Newgen, “The eGov suite, built on its proven Business Process Management and Enterprise Content Management platforms, provided the Cabinet Secretariat of OSGF a highly secure solution for end-to-end automation of its key processes. The implementation resulted in elimination of manual hand-offs, improved process efficiencies, and reduced operational costs.”
