Everyone has heard of chocolate eggs as an Easter snack, but the peanut butter version is something different and delicious to try out this year. Kids and adults alike will enjoy its scrumptious peanut butter filling which is easy and fun to make.
Convert your family members into sweet tooths this Easter with this simple recipe:
INGREDIENTS ( for servings of 12-18 eggs)
1. 4 cups of powdered sugar
2. 1
1⁄
2 cups of creamy peanut butter
3. 1⁄
4 cup of butter
4. 2 -3 tablespoons of milk
5. 3 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips
6. 1 teaspoon of shortening
Directions
1. Stir powdered sugar, peanut butter and butter in a mixing bowl.
2. Add milk – a tablespoon at a time until it becomes a smooth dough.
3. Shape the dough into eggs.
4. Freeze the eggs in your freezer for 1 hour.
5. Place chocolate chips and shortening in a measuring cup.
6. Melt the chocolate mixture in the microwave for a minute, stirring at intervals.
7. Dip frozen egg shapes into the melted chocolate and place on waxed paper until it’s set.
8. Trim off any excess chocolate that may pool with a paring knife.
9. Decorate eggs with royal icing or sprinkles.
