Former Super Eagles skipper, Austin “Jay Jay” Okocha has emerged the winner of the Delta State Football Association Chairmanship elections held in Asaba on Friday.
Okocha had a landslide victory and garnered 26 out of 27 votes to become the new Delta State FA Supremo.
Jay Jay had been the vice-chairman of the Delta State FA in the immediate past regime under Amaju Pinnick, who is the current NFF boss.
Amaju had to step down from his role as Delta State FA boss after he won the national presidential elections to preside over the country’s football affairs.
The former Bolton Wanderers, Fenerbahce and Paris Saint-Germain midfield dynamo also head the NFF Technical Study Group.
Fellow ex internationals Edema Fuludu and Victor Ikpeba were also elected onto the Delta State FA Board. Fuludu will serve as Vice Chairman and Ikpeba as member.
