Every day is a gift, so embrace it as such. We only have one life to live and the only way to live it fully is to live it motivated. Have you ever asked yourself why some people fail in life and others excel despite the fact that we each have same 24 hours in a day? It is summarized in one word – ‘MOTIVATION’. Motivation can be likened to prayers; we need it every day. The word motivation was coined out from the word motive (a verb), which implies to do something or act. In life we all crave or aspire for something and motivation is a key factor we need. Zig Ziglar once stated “People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily”. He was right.
So, just in case you’re wondering how you can stay motivated daily without running out of ideas, below are some tips to get you started and keep you going on a daily basis.
Have a Goal (vision): A wise man once said if your dreams and goals don’t scare you, then it was never big enough. Have a vision and goal so big it envelopes all your thoughts and deeds, so each and every day you are fired up to ensure you achieve it. Since motivation inspires one to act, your vision will be a practical instrument.
Be Passionate: Without passion we will all be living for the now and the moments. Every motivation that is wrapped around passion will sure burn for a very long time. Passion is that daily ingredient we all need to stir up our goals and dreams (vision). Passion is a catalyst to your goals and vision make the best use of it daily.
Keep records or stock (ingathering): You can’t tell how far you’ve gone in life if you never knew where you started. A starting point is key; it’s like an inception of trajectory. Take records of daily, weekly and monthly achievements; it shows how far you’ve gone. The greater the achievements, the higher the motivation. Good results make one inspired to go the extra mile.

Read, listen and watch how people like us turned out to be great achievers e.g. Late Nelson Mandela, Michael Jordan, Ben Carson, Tiger Woods, Steve Jobs etc. It’s human nature to emulate life’s experiences. Feeding your mind with such knowledge will only dilate your thoughts towards greater goals as you remain motivated.
Take credit: Don’t always go too hard on yourself; remember Rome wasn’t built in one day. As powerful as the all mighty God is, the holy book made us know He created the universe in seven days. So give credit to yourself for the little or much you’ve accomplished. You may not be where you want to be, but you sure are far from where you where.
Get a muse: Just as the holy book says, where two or three are gathered the lord is in their midst, so also it is very important to commune, and a muse sure is a good solution. Find someone that inspires you. After all, the holy bible also says iron sharpens iron. Same is the effect your muse will have on you; there is a saying that goes thus: if you want to go fast, go alone; but if you want to go far go with people. It’s only natural that when the stakes are low your muse will always be there to motivate you.
Be Thankful: It’s not happy people that are thankful; it’s thankful people that are happy. Nothing motivates humans like a joyous and thankful heart. Remember with a grateful heart you can stay afloat and be positive to all your goals and dreams.
