There is a very huge probability that the monotonous events we have been faced with compulsorily could become so discouraging and place a halt on our mental and physical progress.

This is extremely crucial as creativity is the bane of every writer’s piece. Now, you don’t have the opportunity to enjoy nature as much as you love to, take a much-desired vacation, or even physically interact with people as a means to get content. What then do you do?

Understand What Creativity Really Means

I think the major challenge is that we mystify creativity to mean something outrageously different and complicated. On the contrary, creativity is more pronounced in simplicity. Creativity is simply the ability to create a thing. This, however, doesn’t mean it has to be created from scratch or it should be completely foreign. It could just be an introduction to a different methodology or process of an existing thing. Much more, creativity could be the removal of an existing process, illustration or method, still to achieve a completely different result. Creativity is very attractive because it reveals options and elements that were not obvious to everyone.

3 Quotes On Creativity To Inspire Writing

  • Creativity is intelligence having fun – Albert Einstein
Your writing cannot be divorced from you as a writer. The same way having fun as a person is reflected in your writing. If you notice your writing is void of creativity, your best bet is to look for fun activities to engage in as a person. As you go on with this activity, your brain brings more concepts and ideas readily, than you would have normally. Having fun as a person always spills over to your work as a writer.

  • The creative child is the adult who survived – Ursula Leguin
Every child was born creative. However, the complications of growing up stifle that innate creative ability in many people. Now, we are grown, how do we get back to that time? Simple! Relieve exciting experiences and dreams you had as a child, and write about them. The first invention I thought about was manufacturing the machine that could count the number of hairs on a person’s head. Up till now, I still enjoy the thought as I go down memory lane and then, it births further creative thoughts in me. To never lose creativity, you must revive the child in you, who believed everything was possible.
  • Creativity does not wait that perfect moment. It fashions its own perfect moments out of ordinary ones – Bruce Garrabrandt
There is this quote that encourages me a lot. You cannot edit a blank page. This means that beginning is the first step in producing your desired masterpiece and there is no perfect piece anywhere, at first. It takes a commitment to work on what you have begun until you create that which is worthy of perfection. Just begin with what you have, where you are and with this time you have. If after you begin to write, you still are not convinced with what you have written, share with friends and loved ones, and have them criticize your piece. You will become better at it. So will you set your pen rolling? Your writing is your legacy to the world, don’t deprive us of it. Featured Image Source: bitLanders
