Microwave Method

Check your sponge, ensure that it doesn’t contain any metallic material and that it doesn’t have any plastic scour pad attached to it. Afterwards, soak it in water as a dry sponge can catch fire. Put the sponge in a microwave-safe bowl. Set the timer on high and microwave it for a minute. When the time elapses, leave the sponge in the microwave to cool for at least ten to fifteen minutes before removing it. Squeeze out any excess water. Put the now clean sponge in its container and set it on the sink. That’s all. Source: Food Network Featured Image Source: Make Space
