How do you pay your electricity bills if you’re unable to do so at a bank?

That’s a pertinent question for people who have been caught up in a lockdown (like the one announced in response to the coronavirus pandemic), or who are unable to cover the distance between where they are and their local DisCo’s cash office.

The obvious way to do this would be to pay online. But what if you don’t know what channels to pay through?

That’s a problem that this article solves. Here, we’ll share the alternative means through which you can pay your electricity bills to the DisCo in charge of the electricity supply in your area. These methods include online channels and mobile USSD.

1. Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC)

  • States Served: FCT, Kogi, Nasarawa & most parts of Niger State.
  • Online channels: Quickteller, Paga, Remita, Quickpay, VTPass, and several others.
  • Mobile USSD: Users of selected payment platforms can pay their electricity bills using mobile USSD
  • Registered Payoutlet users can dial this on their phones:  *389*101*Meter Number#
  • Registered Buypower users can dial: *402*00009548*Amount#
  • Paga users can dial: *242*803#

2. Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC)

  • States Served: Parts of Lagos.
  • Online channels: Jumia Pay, VTPass, Buypower, 9Pay, and via the EKEDC website.

3. Ikeja Electric

  • States Served: Parts of Lagos.
  • Online channels: Ikeja Electric payment portal (IE’s portal), Quickteller, internet banking, banks’ mobile apps.
  • Mobile USSD: Dial *565*6*0013*MeterNo/AccountNo/Amount#

4. Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC)

  • States Served: Anambra, Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi, Abia.
  • Online channels: Energypay (accessible via the EEDC website), Paga, Buypower, iElectricity, and bank apps.

5. Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC)

  • States Served: Ekiti, Edo, Ondo, Delta.
  • Online channels: You can pay your electricity bill through the BEDC website.

6. Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC)

  • States Served: Ogun, Osun, Oyo, Kwara, and parts of Niger, Kogi, and Ekiti States.
  • Online channels: Jumia Pay, VTPass, Buypower, Fetswallet.

7. Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JED)

  • States Served: Benue, Plateau, Bauchi, Gombe.
  • Online channels: Buypower, VTPass, Paga, GPay, iRecharge, Lightup, iElectricity, Quickpay.

8. Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KAEDCO)

  • States served: Kaduna, Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi.
  • Online channels: Buypower, iRecharge, Payoutlet, GPay.

9.  Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO)

  • States served: Kano, Jigawa, Katsina.
  • Online channels: Payoutlet, Jumia Pay, VTPass, Paga, Quickteller.

10. Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution (PHEDC)

  • States Served: Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Rivers

11. Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC)

  • States Served: Taraba, Adamawa, Borno, Yobe.
  • Online channels: Quickteller.
