Innocent Ujah Idibia – better known by his stage names
Tuface or
2baba – laid out an elaborate lineup of events to celebrate his beautiful mother.
It might be recalled that Tuface, during the
Buckwyld N Breathless concert in October 2017, just nine days before his mother’s birthday, premiered and released a new song titled
Unconditional Love. The song
Unconditional Love is a special dedication to his mother and all amazing mums around the world, celebrating their selflessness, and sacrifices in raising their children.
Yesterday, Tuface posted on Instagram:
“My mother, my precious jewel. I am taking time today #MothersDay2018 to celebrate my wonderful mum, Mrs Rose Idibia. Words cannot express how precious you are. Thank you for your #UnconditionalLove.
A TV special in honour of this rare gem and all amazing mums all over the world will air today on HipTv by 2 pm, and Silverbird TV by 8.30pm. Tune in, guys. @officialhiptv@silverbirdtv”

Part of the activities to celebrate the legend’s mother included a 60-minute Mothers’ Day TV special. The TV special was titled
Unconditional Love, after the original track and featured 2Baba and his mum. It was a full day dedicated to celebrating the amazing woman who raised the music legend Innocent Idibia.
The lined-up activities for this TV special included the arrival of Mrs Idibia at Lagos airport, where she was given a royal, red carpet reception, treated to a sumptuous dinner with the Idibia family and friends at a restaurant in Lekki, a photo shoot with renowned, accomplished and celebrated photographer Kelechi Amadi Obi and a sit-down interview/tv session with Toolz Oniru. The TV special was aired on Silverbird TV and on HipTV.
During a public presentation of Tuface’s biography Book (
A Very Good Bad Guy) at Terra Kulture, Lagos in 2015, it was mentioned that Mrs Idibia did not want her son to go into music. In her own words:
“His inclination towards music was shown at an early age of five; he would mimic songs on TV and radio. We hoped he would pursue one of these high sounding professions like law, medicine, banking and so on”.
Tuface began composing and singing jingles at the GB Fan Club at
Enugu State Broadcasting Services (ESBS) in 1996, shortly before dropping out of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), to face his early music career with
Plantashun Boiz.
