Lagos to host the largest gathering of energy professionals in West Africa, showcasing a growth agenda for the energy transition. The event will feature 150 global brands, 50 top domain expert speakers, and 7000s of energy enthusiasts from around the world. The Landmark Centre in Lagos is all set to become the power hub for the next three days. The three-day power-packed business-to-business event will bring together many high-profile stakeholders from the solar, renewables, and electrical industry to Lagos to facilitate sustainable energy solutions to Nigeria and beyond.

The power-packed three days from 20-22 February, will allow the who-is-who from the energy segment to meet, interact and learn from each other at the Powerelec Nigeria 2024 Trade Fair and Conferences. The conference’s overarching theme is “Vision to Action: Pioneering Sustainable Power Solutions for Economic Growth in Africa.”  H.E Chief Adebayo Adekola Adelabu, Hon’ble Federal Minister of Power, Government of Nigeria, will inaugurate the event at 11 am on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. Dignitaries like Mr. Chandramouli Kumar Kern, Hon’ Consul General of India in Lagos, representatives from the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, The Energy Commission of Nigeria, the Rural Electrification Agency of Nigeria, other industry stalwarts from the generation, transmission, and distribution segments would be part of the inaugural address.

H.E Chief Adebayo Adekola Adelabu, Hon’ble Federal Minister of Power, will outline the energy security plans (vision 2030) by the government and how solar and renewable power are boosting the Nigerian energy sector in his keynote address. The C-Suite of the solar industry, representing the best in Nigeria’s solar power market, has also confirmed their attendance at this must-attend event. Six-panel discussions are planned, two being facilitated by the Africa Solar Industry Association (AFSIA) and specifically intended to discuss opportunities and trends in the solar industry.

“How the Discos are reshaping the Future of Energy in Nigeria?” is the topic of discussion in the first panel. The Significance of Public-Private Partnerships, or PPPs, will delve into the perspectives of generation, transmission, and distribution, as well as how the industry can collaborate to realize the potential of renewable energy in advancing Nigeria’s Vision 2030. A few case studies will likely be discussed during these sessions to understand the challenges from an end-user perspective and how the partner overcame them. Besides networking opportunities, a key takeaway for the delegates and the attendees from this super conference is the peer-to-peer benchmarking, SOPs, and best practices that the industry can adopt to fuel Nigeria’s solar economy.
