Quail_6   Quail belongs to the species of small, short-tailed birds from the family Phasianidae. It’s colouration is between reddish brown to dark brown .They are non migratory birds and live in regions that are dry (deserts) as well as in damp forests. Quail mainly feed on leaves, roots, grains and different forms of small insects. The hens lay roundish eggs, which is incubated by the help of the males. Their eggs are considered better than that of chickens and have been tested medically for the treatment of some ailments. As small as the size of its eggs, the nutritional value is the reverse. It’s five- six times higher than that of other poultry birds (chicken, Guinea fowl, Turkey, etc).  Their eggs are highly rated as nutritional food beyond the culinary world and this is supported by research findings which bolster that they are highly loaded with useful minerals and basic vitamins required for human growth and development. Compared to the 11 perecent protein content in chicken eggs, that of quail is 13 and contains 140 percent of vitamins B1 compared to the 50 percent found in chicken eggs. Since protein is vital to the bodies development, quail eggs are of great importance and source. The  potassium and iron content in their eggs is very high . According to records,  their eggs have never caused any form of allergies rather, they help fight allergies. By nature eggs contain cholesterol, but the good news is, that of quail is not the type that is harmful. Note: not all fats are harmful to the human body.
