Building A Tech-focused business

For the past few years, GIGM has steadily integrated technology into its operations. This transformed the company from being just a transportation company to a tech-driven mobility player. In 2019, it launched its services in Ghana as part of its plan to move into other African markets. This was followed by the launch of its payment services in 2021. This is a direct result of the company’s desire to facilitate the movement of not just humans and goods but also value.

Commenting on GIGM’s mobility goals, Enahoro shared that the company plans to embed more lifestyle features in its products. To him, technology will be the bedrock of the company’s operations.
“Mobility is beyond movement. It is about the ability to move easily and unhindered irrespective of the channel; land, rail, water, air or virtual/augmented reality. While moving freely, people should also be able to move things freely. This is the new renaissance of GIGM and the bedrock upon which we will embed more lifestyle features in the existing customer app”,
he says. Also, the new team would focus on dealing with the lingering challenge of maintaining high service delivery standards as this could deter the prospects of the business if not handled efficiently.

Final words

This new administration does not include anyone from the company’s founding team. Nigeria is watching to see how the business would fare in a market rife with competition. Regardless, GIGM is executing plans to increase its value, offerings and reach as a team. Lastly, the company is committed to sustaining the company expansion plan across West Africa.
