Finding a new job has never been an easy task. Usually, people would have to walk from one office to another, submitting copies of their resume and hoping to get called for an interview. Thanks to the internet, we now have job websites that serve both the job seeker and the hiring organisations. People can directly apply for vacancies listed on these sites, upload their resumes and fill in contact details.
Some of such platforms go as far as testing and maintaining a pool of qualified job seekers, making it easier for recruiters to find good talent. They also offer CV services – helping job seekers draft a comprehensive resume.
Check out some online job boards below:
Jobberman
Jobberman is Nigeria’s foremost indigenous online career portal. Recruiters always turn to Jobberman when they need to make new hires, making it a good place for job seekers to pitch their tent. After signing up on Jobberman, you can go through the job listing, or search by keyword or by location to narrow down the listings. If you find a job you are interested in, you’ll be prompted to fill in your contact details and upload your resume. Jobberman then takes care of all the correspondence with the recruiter and would get back to you with interview schedule. In case that job doesn’t work out, Jobberman will also recommend other jobs and sometimes prebook you for interviews.
MyJobMag
MyJobMag provides the latest and verified job adverts and career information from employers and recruiters in all Nigerian states. They also support job seekers through internship coaching, career counselling, and training to personalised job discovery, and so on. The web portal also has a salary comparison section that allows you to see salary expectations across states, companies and job titles.
NgCareers
NgCareers does a great job in curating a comprehensive list of job vacancies. The portal allows you search by location, field, industry or by company. They also maintain a list of top companies that are recruiting, top jobs, and so on. Training courses and career resources are also offered on the site.
HotNigerianJobs
HotNigerianJobs is one of the oldest job listing websites in the country and is popular with recent graduates. Job vacancies range from governmental agencies to private businesses and companies. The site also offers resources to help people grow their career or business. The portal attracts a lot of web traffic, making it a great place for employers to find new hires.
LinkedIn is one of the best tools for landing a new job. But first, you need to make sure your profile is well formatted and has your career details. You can let recruiters on LinkedIn know you are open for jobs by toggling the setting in your profile. LinkedIn will also send you a list of recommended jobs weekly. Additionally, you can join groups, participate in conversations and follow companies you find interesting and relevant to your job search. Premium paid features offer more advanced search functions and services.
