Ecobank Nigeria has appointed Anthony Okpanachi as its Deputy Managing Director, a statement from Ecobank group has revealed. It says, “Okpanachi was the Chief Executive Officer of Ecobank Kenya and Regional Head for East Africa, comprising Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi. Okpanachi’s banking career spans over 23 years, with 16 of those in senior management levels.” “He is a professional banker and strategists with experiences in treasury operations, Retail Business development and Relationship Management amongst others. Okpanachi who has trained both locally and internationally holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) and first and second degrees in Economics at distinction levels from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and the University of Lagos.” Commenting on the appointment, Group CEO of Ecobank, Thierry Tanoh, says “the role of the new deputy managing director is critical one for the organisation, and will help support the acceleration of the transformation of the affiliate as we work towards a leadership position in the market.”
