Plantains are the less sweet, starchier equivalent of banana. They are rich in fibre, vitamins and minerals. Plantains are a staple food in most homes in Nigeria. Interestingly, a variety of meals can be made from this food regardless of its stage of ripeness. Today, we’ll briefly discuss some plantain recipes.

After slicing, the plantains are deep fried until they are golden brown and crunchy. Once upon a time, salt was the only seasoning used in preparing this snack. Today, with creative minded business people everywhere, different seasonings are now used in its preparation. The result is the birth of different varieties of kpekere.

This is another name for fried plantain. Dodo is the most popular way of enjoying plantain. Fried Plantain is usually made with ripe plantain. It can be eaten as a full meal or a side dish.
