Afro-pop music sensation Davido and kid comedienne Emmanuella have both been listed as nominees for the 2018 edition of the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in the Favourite African star category. They appear alongside Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania) Cassper Nyovest, Caster Semenya (South Africa) and Eddy Kenzo (UgaFnda) on the Nickelodeon website.
Davido, popular for his hit songs Dami duro, Aye, Skelewu, among others, is Nigeria’s most followed entertainer on Instagram, with 6million followers. He has also won several international awards, most recently the Best African Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards.
Emmanuella was awarded the Best New Comedienne and Princess of Comedy at the Afro-Australia Music and Movie Awards in Australia in 2016. She also has 1.7 million subscribers on her YouTube channel. Her comedy skit “Not my real face” has over 4.1 million views on Youtube, and she is the only African to have achieved either of these feats. She is currently working on an unnamed Disney project
The Nickelodeon’s 2018 Kids’ Choice Awards which celebrates kids’ favorites across music, television, movie and other digital platforms are scheduled for Saturday 24th March at The Forum in Inglewood, California, hosted by WWE Superstar John Cena.
