SystemSpecs is a leading Information Technology company that provides financial technology, payroll, and human resource management software to organizations in Nigeria and other African countries.
The company has been in operation for almost thirty years. It serves a diverse customer base, including individuals, businesses of all sizes (SMEs and large corporations), and clients at the Federal and State levels of government.
Founded in 1992 by John Obaro, SystemSpecs began as a B2B enterprise that resold accounting software to organizations in Nigeria. The founding team of five steadily grew as the company diversified its products and services, and reached new clients.

Today, the company says it employs about 250 staff and caters to over 20,000 businesses. It’s headed by its founder, John Obaro, now its Managing Director, as well as a board of experienced professionals drawn from the finance and ICT industries.
SystemSpecs sells software solutions under three segments, each run as an independent venture. The most well-known of these is Remita, a FinTech platform that serves public and private organizations. This electronic platform enables its users to make and receive payments easily.
Remita’s major features include recurrent payment management, electronic invoicing, liquidity management, and electronic receipts. It also gives its users access to loans and lets them receive notifications on transactions made. The platform integrates well with ERP systems, an added advantage for businesses seeking to simplify more of their operations.
To date, Remita has processed trillions of naira worth of payments. It’s one of Nigeria’s leading electronic payments gateways and is the favoured channel for financial transactions among many state governments in the country.
Another product from SystemSpecs is HumanManager. It’s a payroll and human capital management solution designed for organizations of all sizes and sectors. It features time and attendance pay computation, employee loan management, and automated payslips. Also built-in is an employee information system and performance analysis.

SystemSpecs’ third offering is Paylink, a web-based solution for receiving money. With it, small businesses can generate and share a link through which customers can pay for the product they have purchased.
Apart from its direct involvement with the market for IT products, SystemSpecs also has a training academy, through which it equips individuals with the skills they need to succeed in the software industry. Its training packages are available all year round, on and off-site.
SystemSpecs has gained recognition from various quarters for the work it does. It won the award for Most Efficient Third Party Processor from the CBN in 2017; Software Company of the Year 2018 at the Beacon of ICT award; Next Bull Award from BusinessDay Newspaper and the Nigerian Stock Exchange in 2019; and FinTech Recognition Award from the FinTech Association of Nigeria, also in 2019.
