In an industry dominated by foreign companies, Construction Kaiser has stood strong, expanding its reach over the years and executing projects for some of Nigeria’s biggest brands. These projects have included office complexes, power projects, shopping malls, and manufacturing facilities, among others.

Construction Kaiser was founded in 1993 by a five-man team. Its initial focus was on carrying out minor renovation works. In the years that followed, it grew to become a major construction firm, expanding beyond its first base in Port Harcourt, and snapping up large projects in the South-South and South-East.

The company set up its Lagos regional office in 2003 and established another one in Abuja in 2008. Both these sites ensured that Construction Kaiser achieved national relevance, as it subsequently undertook major building assignments in both cities and their surrounding regions.

Today, Construction Kaiser is one of Nigeria’s leading indigenous construction firms. It has a workforce numbering about 200 spread out across its three locations. A large portion of this number is a technical staff who are directly involved in planning, implementing and overseeing sensitive projects nationwide.

Some of the company’s accomplishments include the construction of buildings designated for commercial use: office complexes, shopping malls, banking facilities, medical facilities, and spaces used by major restaurant chains. It has also been involved in the fashioning and delivery of single residential units and multi-residential estates.

A large portion of Nigeria’s industrial structures has been built by foreign contractors. However, there’s recently been an uptick in the number of these projects executed by indigenous companies. Construction Kaiser has played a key role in this turn. It has constructed industrial buildings for various clients, including telecommunications, oil and gas, and power establishments.

Besides its construction services, Construction Kaiser also supplies other builders with heavy-duty construction equipment. Some of this equipment includes cranes, rock breakers, backhoes, wheel loaders, concrete mixer trucks, concrete batching plants, cement tankers, excavators, steel formwork systems, concrete boom pumps, and concrete line pumps.

In its almost three decades of work across Nigeria, Construction Kaiser has delivered projects for several of the country’s top brands and organizations: Sahara Energy, Total E&P, MTN, Sterling Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Chicken Republic, and the Nigerian British Chamber of Commerce, among others.

Through its CSR arm, the Kaiser Foundation for Social Development (KFSD), Construction Kaiser is working to solve problems that currently exist in skills acquisition, entrepreneurial skills training, and leadership skills in STEM. It’s doing this in partnership with third parties who share similar goals.

As local construction firms grow in their expertise and scope of operations, they are taking on more projects from private and public sector concerns. Construction Kaiser has played a role in the emergence of this trend and could continue to be at its forefront for the foreseeable future.
