  The Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy has introduced the 3 Million Technical Talent Fellowship Program for young Nigerians who want to build a career or business in the contemporary technology space. Through this initiative, the ministry seeks to create a pipeline of technical talent that will result in the creation of 2 million jobs in the digital economy by 2025.

This program will unfold in phases. The first will involve multiple stakeholders, including the fellows who will be trained in one of 12 areas in tech; training providers; partners; and placement organizations. The program will be executed in partnership with NITDA.

Skills in Which Fellows Will Be Trained

Fellows enrolled in the 3MTT Fellowship Program will be trained in one of 12 focus areas, namely:
  • AI/Machine Learning
  • Animation
  • Cybersecurity
  • Data Analysis and Visualization
  • Data Science
  • Dev Ops
  • Game Development
  • Product Management
  • Quality Assurance
  • UI/UX Design

Persons who are enrolled in the 3MTT program will benefit from it in the following ways:
  • Get trained in tech skills for which there is high demand

Eligibility

This program is open to persons who meet these conditions:
  • Must be willing to undergo the training, which will last for roughly 3 months
  • Should be able to take part in the training online and at physical venues, as it will be a hybrid
  • Will have to undertake a pre-program test to ascertain their skill benchmark
