Most emerging apps in today’s clime are not just looking to solve a need but also provide income-generating opportunities for Nigerians. This is what GIGGO, an app launched by leading logistics company GIG Logistics, has emerged to achieve. With the newly released GIGGO app, users can now make requests to have their deliveries shipped to them from the comfort of their homes or wherever they are and track the delivery process.

Logistics has become a big deal in Nigeria due to the increase in the number of businesses and individuals that need their goods/services shipped on a daily basis. And the emergence of apps and interactive websites has only made it easier for logistics companies to deviate from the traditional mode of delivery to more digitalised mediums that make the delivery process seamless. GIG Logistics is one of such businesses and they indeed couldn’t have shown up at a better time.

In the words of the Chief Operations Officer (COO) of GIG Logistics, Ayodele Adenaike:

“One of the ways courier companies can seize the opportunity in the difficult Nigerian terrain is to consider customised IT solutions that are tailored to the company’s direction…GIG has effectively used technology to succeed in a volatile environment like Nigeria and hence positioning itself as a leading logistics company with the strongest delivery network. With the GIGGo customer app, customers can order for deliveries from their comfort areas for onward delivery at an affordable rate.”

Once they’ve selected a vehicle, they must now input the pickup address and the receiver’s details. To make things even easier, items listed on the GIGGO app already have a preset weight. So, all user have to do is select a quantity and take a picture of the item. However, for other items not listed on the app, users will have to provide the required details as well as the items estimated weight. This will later be confirmed by a GIGGO rider when he arrives the pickup destination.
