The nomination list for the 2018 edition of the
Nigerian Entertainment Awards (NEA) has been released by the organisers, with
Simi, Olamide, Adekunle Gold,
Tiwa Savage, Wizkid and Davido leading with two nominations each.
Adekunle Gold‘s
About 30 album is being nominated for Album of the year along with
Simisola by Simi,
Sugarcane by Tiwa Savage,
Outside by Burna Boy and
First Daze of Winter by UK-based Nigerian artiste and producer, Maleek Berry.
2017
Last year, the Album of the Year Award went to Olamide, courtesy of his
Glory album. Other winners in the 2017 edition include Hottest Single of the Year:
If (Davido); Best Collabo of the Year:
Iskaba – Wande Coal & DJ Tunez; Best Music Video Director:
Yolo – Seyi Shay (Dir: Meji Alabi); Best New Act: Mayorkun; Indigenous Artist of the Year:
Phyno; Diaspora Artist of the Year: Jidenna
; and the Inspirational Artist of the Year went to Sinach.
The official website for the awards states that the even will hold on Sunday, 11th November 2018 as the date for this 13th edition. The awards will hold in Washington DC.
