Now, structures have been put in place to work in the midst of the pandemic, and many employers have asked that previous employees return to work, or HR managers recruit new ones. How then do you balance your freelance life with your full time job?
  • Do work whenever you can
You might have to take advantage of unexpected free times and ensure you take care of pending freelancing jobs. First it is advised that you have a schedule and time set for your freelancing life, however, it might not be sufficient. So, filling up those times when you would rather see a movie or do socials, might just be what you need to get back to work. There is a high chance that when you do this, you don’t have to utilize the other tips, as everything will evenly balance out.  
  • Utilize off work times
Off work times could mean your weekends and public holidays. It could also include night times, and early mornings, depending on your schedule and your body system.   
  • Use your lunch break
Your lunch break is important. However, you can cut short the 1 hour to 30 minutes so you can  catch up on work as it applies to you. Most times, lunch breaks feature a number of activities outside of actually eating food. Prioritize your time during your lunch break, and see how you can get some work, no matter how minimal.

  •  Never leave things for last minute
This is probably the most efficient freelancing rule you would need. Do not let things pile before you get to attend to them. Imbibe the habit of dealing with things as soon as they arise or occur. This will make you so much more efficient and you might not need to make as many sacrifices as outlined above. However, if you already have outstanding tasks from your freelance jobs, finish them up in the best possible way you can, and then, inculcate the habit of never leaving things for last minute before they get done.   
  • Do not take on  more than you can handle
Reconciling freelancing and a full time job just screams more money. However, you could be doing yourself more harm when you do not have the requisite time to fulfill this obligation. Honestly analyze your abilities and strength, to decide if you have the bandwidth for these responsibilities before taking them on. You might just have been overloading yourself with work and that has to stop.  It is possible to have a full time job as well as other means of money generating schemes for yourself.
