Thinking of quitting your current job for a new one? Then this piece is for you as moving from one job to another involves weighing the pros and cons properly. You might decide to leave your job because it no longer serves your needs or because you desire something better, whatever the reason for quitting your job, a lot of thinking has to be done to be sure that you are making the right decision.  There are a lot of factors that come into play when moving from one job to another and the decision is not easily made, however, if you are thinking of quitting your current job for a new one, here are four things you must absolutely know.

1. The probability of getting a better one: So you have made up your mind to quit your job and settle for another one, the question is how different is this new one from the one you are leaving? In order to leave one job, you must have another one already on ground waiting for you. One does not quit a paying job in the hopes of starting up a business without proper planning.

2. An alternative source of money: In every situation, one must plan for what ifs. Before quitting your current job, make sure that you have an alternative source of funds readily available for you whenever you need to spend it. This alternative source should by no means be your savings and it should come from another route where you can easily use it for day-to-day expenses. The reason for this is that: in case something goes wrong with your new job, you will not be strapped for cash.

3. Have a huge chunk of savings: It is not wise to quit your current job without a significant amount of money stashed somewhere as savings. These savings will perform major roles in setting you up for the new job and serving as a base for you to take off. Never quit your job without having enough savings on ground.

4. Consider the establishment you are leaving: It might be very easy for you to pack up and set up shop elsewhere, but have you paused to consider the ones you are leaving behind? It is only logical to give a long period of notice to the management in order for them to find a way to fill the gap either by hiring a new person or reassigning personnel in your department. Do not just leave suddenly without adequate notice and warning, follow due procedures, you never can tell what the future holds.
