If you are frequent visitor to Lagos, Nigeria or you are a lover of Nigerian music, the name “Tiwa Savage” will most certainly ring a bell as the MAVIN songstress is one of the few female artistes in the country making it in the music industry. Currently an ambassador for major brands, Tiwa’s popularity is certainly justifiable as, from her sonorous voice and elegance to unbeatable dance moves, there is a lot to love about her. While the common assertion is that Nigerian music mostly lack depth and meaning, Tiwa’s songs have not only appealed to inhabitants as well as people on a trip to the country, but have also motivated a large number of people around the nation with messages on love and life. Jovago.com, Africa’s No. 1 online hotel booking service highlights these inspirational messages below.   Genuine Love deserves expression Tiwa’s first hit song, Kele Kele Love, was the song that launched her into limelight. While the beat is very catchy and the lyrics spurring, there is no neglecting the powerful message embedded in the song. Some lines in the song that highlight this message include: “Only serious candidates should come and holla…”, and “…till you shout on the roof that I’m your love”. Bottom line is, when love is true, the partners are bold, honest and proud of sharing it with themselves and the world. Most love interests who are hesitant to define the relationship or that are sneaky about the entire “situation” are mostly unserious. Genuine loves necessarily deserves expression.   Every relationship needs time We are in the quick-fix-or-abandon generation where most people generally lack the patience required to groom and grow relationships. However in one of her most recent songs  Love Yellow, where the singer implores a lover to keep showing her affection, a part of the lyrics says  “…so why don’t we just take our time until we get this right…”. That line alone reveals that although there might be love, patience and the added luxury of a well-planned vacation, patience is still required to keep things beautiful.   Hating is never productive No doubt a lot of Nigerian music artists sing about their haters and beefing in general, however, Tiwa Savage takes the message further by personalizing it and taking it a little further in her song “Folarin” where she spits: “… tell the haters say not to worry ‘cause i’m here to stay…see them running their mouth like WC, while i’m singing around making my money…”  In other words, hating is never productive, it never stops the person being hated from progressing, rather it limits the hater one way or the other.
