Abia warriors defender, Adeleke Adekunle has been called up to the Super Eagles to replace Kenneth Omeruo who is recovering from an injury and has been restricted by Leganes from joining up with his super eagles’ teammates. The 2013 AFCON winner is a mainstay in the Nigerian national team and will be a big miss for the doubleheader between Benin Republic and Lesotho.

However, Adeleke Adekunle, a ball-playing centre back has been a regular figure in the Imama Amakpakabo side. Hopefully, if he gets a nod, Nigerians will get a glimpse of the quality he has brought to Abia warriors so far this season. Adeleke joins John Noble (Enyimba FC) and Anayo Iwuala (Enyimba FC) as the three NPFL professionals called up to the National team. The super eagles play Benin Republic and Lesotho on the 27th and 30th of March respectively.
