Recently, in celebration of the International Women’s Day, the International Women’s Society (IWS) held an Investiture ceremony for Hajiya Zainab Saleh, the society’s 58th President. The event, which also doubled as a fundraising ceremony, took place at Terra Kulture in Victoria Island, Lagos. The investiture ceremony was well attended by members and supporters of IWS. Some of them are: Lady Maiden Ibru, Chief Mrs. Marlies Allan, Hajiya Mariam Bello, Honorable Yusuf Tuggar, Engr. Bayo Adeola, Mrs. Gbemi Sasore, Mrs. Nkiru Anumudu, Mrs. Ekua Abudu, Mrs. Ego Boyo, Mrs. Frances Oghene, Ms. Femi Atilade, Ms. Nikki Khiran, Richard Sheidu and, many other important dignitaries. IWS was founded in 1957 by Nigerian and non-Nigerian public-spirited women who had a common goal to foster cooperation and interaction between women of various nationalities and to uplift the situation of women and children. IWS is a non-political, non-profit, non-religious and non-governmental association, embracing women from all over the world. IWS is affiliated to the Nigerian National Council of Women Societies and the Open Door Association of International Women at The Hague in the Netherlands. The association is managed by an executive committee made up of dedicated and committed professionals.
