Good people, they say, make the world a bearable place to live in. Nigerians were moved to tears at the kind gesture of the alumni of the University of Jos who, earlier this week, arrived in Bakana in Rivers state to visit a former classmate who had been living with a mental illness for years. The said classmate, Mr Minabelem Hilary, had become mentally unstable during the course of his Master’s degree.

When the Alumni arrived at Mr Hilary’s town, they found him on the street. In the viral video shared on most social media platforms, the former classmates were seen hugging and exchanging pleasantries with him. They also bought him new clothes. Afterwards, they took him to a Psychiatry hospital at Rumigbo in Port Harcourt and paid the complete fee for his treatments.

The video has garnered sympathy from many Nigerians who were touched by the Alumni’s benevolence and beautiful gestures, hailing them for their love in the face of their friend’s challenges.
