With this fee, Osimhen becomes the most expensive African footballer in history and most expensive Nigerian player in history. The amount paid for Osimhen beats the $94 million (£72 million) Arsenal paid Lille in the summer of 2019 to sign Ivorian winger, Nicolas Pepe. A number of accolades also proved the Nigerian was fully out for business as he bagged Lille’s player of the season award alongside being given the 2019/20 Marc-Vivien Foé award for the best African player in Ligue 1. The Nigerian star was also named in the Ligue 1 team of the season. Source: Newsaf.cgtn Featured Image Source: Gist Me
