  Seedstars is calling on teams with innovative and low-cost digital solutions that uphold digital democracy to enter for its Digital Democracy Challenge.

This Challenge is in keeping with the Seedstars mandate; the organization is a Swiss-based group that exists to positively impact lives in developing countries through technology and entrepreneurship. Seedstars is inviting creative problem solvers who are inspired to preserve and drive democratic ideals online to apply for this program. They will collaborate at a hackathon over a period spanning 72 hours, to fine-tune and present solutions that can promote and preserve online democracy. The program will end with a Demo-Day, in which participants will pitch their solution to a jury.

Benefits

Winning teams will receive the following prizes:
  • First place– $10,000
  • Second place– $8,000
  • Third place– $6,000

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be a team with a minimum of three members.
  • They must have an idea or a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that contributes to goal 16 of the Sustainable Development Goals (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions)
  • They should be passionate about solving issues around declining democracy across the world.

How The Program Will Unfold

Applications will remain open until September 13, 2021. Participants in the hackathon will be selected on September 18, 2021. The hackathon will take place from September 29- October 1.
