Christmas is unarguably the busiest season of the year. Especially here in Nigeria, we are always extra when it comes to celebrations.
Christmas shopping is a whole lot of stress and pressure, I have never been excited about going to the market with my mum to by food items for Christmas, LOL.
So here are a few tips to ease off that stress routine and stay organized this season.
Plan Your Meal/Menu in time
Take out time to plan your menu options for the celebrations. If you’ll be expecting guests, put that into consideration too when drawing out your menu plans. Write it and put it up in your fridge or somewhere you’ll see it every day so you’ll remind yourself to follow it up.
Shop Early
This is probably the most important of all the tasks we do this season. Shopping can be a very tasking job on a normal day, but this period it’ll be even more with prices going up and more people shopping for the same things we are.
Shop 2-3 weeks before Christmas for non-perishable goods and 2-3 three days before Christmas for perishable goods. Remember to preserve the goods well so they don’t get spoilt.
Select and get gifts on time
I’m sure you don’t want to be shopping for gifts and food items at the same time. It’ll be so much stress. So I suggest you shop for gift items and wrap them before Christmas.
Cook and Store them
For meals that you can store in a fridge, do well to cook them in time and store up before the D day. It’ll save you a lot of stress.
Rest on Christmas Eve
When you’re done with all these, rest. You too deserve a Christmas celebration, so rest and unwind. It’ll be hard especially if you have kids and relatives over, still, try to take out some time and rest your body and mind muscles.
