  Applications are now open for the Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Program (TEEP), an annual program that trains and funds hundreds of entrepreneurs from across Africa each year. The TEEP grants entrepreneurs seed capital of $5,000, plus high-level training, and connects them to a network of forward-looking business leaders and experienced mentors. It’s the biggest program of its kind on the continent and has enabled thousands of entrepreneurs to establish and scale their businesses.

The Journey So Far

The Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Program was launched in 2015, with the vision of empowering 10,000 entrepreneurs over the following ten years. It has since partnered with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), GIZ, the African Development Bank (AfDB), the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the United Bank for Africa (UBA) to fulfil its founders’ dream. Thus far, it has trained, mentored, and funded over 15,000 entrepreneurs from all 54 countries of Africa.

Persons who are selected to take part in the TEEP in 2023 will benefit from the program in the following ways:

Eligibility

Applicants should meet these criteria:
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Should have an idea or business with a presence in Africa
  • They must have a business idea or early-stage business that is five years old or less
