  TETFund is currently accepting applications from researchers and academics who want to enter the TETFund Alliance for Innovative Research (TETFAIR) program. It is specifically looking to hear from persons affiliated with Nigerian universities who have innovative ideas and want to transform those ideas into market-driven solutions. The initiative is designed to help them on the way to developing and fabricating prototypes.

Teams of researchers and academic staff from the following fields who have solutions that combine technology and product development will be considered: Agriculture and Food Technology; Environment, Energy, and Circular Economy; Health and Accessibility; Information Communication Technology; Transportation (including Aviation and Shipping); Improving Production Processes.

Benefits

Participants in this program will benefit from it in the following ways:
  • Get trained and mentored to develop their entrepreneurial, creative thinking, business model development and product development capacities
  • Gain access to the Innov8 Hub in Abuja, an innovation and fabrication centre designed for the production of prototypes
  • All-expense paid trip to Abuja, with flight, accommodation, feeding, and daily stipends covered
  • The chance to showcase their solution to potential design partners and investors
  • Get hands-on support from international experts

Eligibility

This program is open to persons and teams that meet these conditions:
  • Must be a team of between 2 and 4 persons comprising academics and researchers from a TETFund beneficiary higher institution
  • Vice-chancellor of their institution has to approve of their nomination by signing an endorsement form
  • The team must have members with diverse and complementary skills, including technical (engineering, scientific, medical, etc.) and financial or business skills
  • Their solution should have a hardware element (not just a digital component)
