  The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC) invites qualified young Nigerians to participate in its LiveWIRE program. This initiative is built to help them on the path to starting and successfully running their businesses. Selected entrepreneurs will receive micro-credit facilities to enable them to establish their ventures, and get support that’ll allow them to excel at the enterprise-building process.

SPDC regards the Shell LiveWIRE Program as a Corporate Social Responsibility project that is capable of transforming the Nigerian economy by empowering its numerous youth with the skills they need to become wealth creators and employers of labour.

Benefits

This program offers the following benefits to its participants:
  • Get assistance to discover and develop business ideas through the Bright Ideas Workshop
  • Receive business planning and management guidelines and skills through the Become a Successful Owner Manager Course (BSOM)
  • Gain access to micro-credit facilities if their business plans are adjudged to have merited such an award
  • Be awarded further for successfully running a thriving business for 2 to 3 years
  • Receive further support through the LiveWIRE Resource Center

Eligibility

The Shell LiveWIRE program is open to persons who meet these criteria:
  • Must be from a Niger Delta State, and be willing to start a business in one of Edo, Delta, Rivers, Bayelsa, Imo, Abia, and Akwa Ibom States
  • Aged between 18 and 35 years
  • Have a university degree or HND in any discipline
  • Completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program, if applicable
  • Should have an innovative business idea, and desire to own and manage a business
  • Not currently in paid employment
