  The Lagos State government has announced that it is now receiving applications from residents of the state who would like to take part in its Agripreneurship program. Conceptualized by the administration of Babjide Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos Agripreneurship Program (LAP) exists to create jobs, cut down on poverty, and achieve food security. The organizers of the program say they aim to make all of these happen by training women and youth and preparing them for life as entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector.

Benefits

Persons who participate in the Lagos Agripreneurship Training Program will benefit from it in the following ways:
  • Be trained for one month in Agribusiness, Aquaculture, E-Agric, Piggery, Poultry, and Vegetable Value Chains, at the Agricultural Training Institute in Araga, Epe
  • Undergo at least 3 months of internship and mentorship in the value chain they choose
  • Acquire the skills and experience they need to succeed as agripreneurs

Eligibility

This program is open to persons who meet the following requirements:
  • Have at least a Senior Secondary School Certificate
  • Should be mentally and physically healthy
  • Be between the ages of 18 and 35 for males, and 18 and 40 for females

Application Process

Persons who want to apply for this opportunity can do so at the LAP application portal. They must fill out the application form there and provide their LASRRA card and academic credentials.
