There are certain things that fascinate me about life. One of them is the miracle of childbirth. The other is the process of germination in crops. Both are similar. They involve the planting of a seed and the growth of that seed. I find it fascinating that a tiny seed, invisible to the eye, can grow into a person with life. Even for the seed you can see, isn’t it interesting to know that the big mango tree you pass by every day came from a little seed? There is power in the seed. A small seed can grow into something extremely great. So it makes me wonder, why do we often take the seed for granted? Your seed is your vision. It is the picture that God has put in your mind concerning your future. It is that thing that you are good at; the thing that marks you out from others. Your seed is your ticket to greatness. I want you to ask yourself this question, “how have I been treating my seed?” What have you been doing with the vision that God has given you? What about your gifts? How are you using them to change this world? Are you one of those people who think their seed is too small to amount to nothing? Are you belittling your gift because when compared to other people’s gifts, it doesn’t seem very significant? If you answered yes to the last set of questions, it’s time for you to change your thinking because no seed is useless. That gift God has given you, if properly harnessed, will bring you into greatness. I have always loved reading and writing since I was a little kid. I never saw my ability to write down my thoughts easily as a gift. I never even considered that one day I would make money from the gift I thought so little of. But God has put inside of me a gift with words. I don’t know how but when I put my pen to paper, the words just flow. I find it difficult to explain to people. It is my thing. It is what God has put on my inside. Again I ask; what are you doing with your seed? It will be a shame to get to the end of your life and discover that you wasted all the seeds God has given you; seeds that could have grown into giant trees had you taken the time to nurture them. Of course, harnessing your seed will bring its own challenges. Those challenges may be financial or psychological. You may find it difficult to find fertile ground where you can sow your seed. That notwithstanding, you have to do all you can to nurture your seed. Find ways to water it and make it grow. Develop yourself. Hang around people who will expand your vision and push you towards the fulfilment of your dreams. And most importantly, hold on to the word of God. God says that He will bring you to your expected end. Just believe in Him. He will order your steps and launch you into greatness. Stop throwing away your seed. Strive to use every gift God has given you. The road may be tough but you will have good success, if you let God order your steps. Plant that seed and watch it grow beyond your expectations.         About the Writer: Adedoyin Jaiyesimi is a Writer, Media Content Creator and Brand Manager.
