In a period with so much bad news about Nigeria and Nigerians, many have had reasons to smile as a Twitter user, @harrisonmbamara shared on his Twitter handle a story of a pregnant woman who went into labour and gave birth to her child on a bus in Port Harcourt.

From all indications, the woman must have left her house without knowing that she might give birth on a bus. Who knows where she was headed to? But all that is known today is that her case was able to show the world what good people Nigerians are. As her water broke and she went into labour, the driver had no choice but to suspend his daily hustle including several well-meaning Nigerians who were headed for their daily businesses and assisted as midwives and caregivers to bring a new life into this world.

This act has gone to show that Nigerians are helpful people. As against contrary opinions, Nigerians are an empathic set of people who will not mind their business as it is done in other climes when there is an apparent danger.  Many Nigerians have also reacted to the news by showering praises on the woman as a strong woman and the caregivers and emergency midwives as wonderful.  Featured image: Kpakpakpa
