  The GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition, a Generation Africa initiative, is currently accepting entries from young entrepreneurs who are active across the food production, distribution, technology, and financing systems. Participants in the competition will present their solutions to its organizers for a chance to win the $50,000 prize money.

This competition is being organized in partnership with the African Development Fund (ADF), the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), Heifer International, Norad, Bayer, and Syngenta Foundation, among others. Finalists will receive mentorship, get linkage support, and benefit from guidance that will enable them to progress further in their entrepreneurial journeys.

Benefits

Finalists will be invited to take part in a virtual pitch event. Top-performing competitors stand a chance of receiving these benefits:
  • Two cash prizes of $50,000, to be awarded to the top male and female competitors
  • An opportunity to attend the African Green Revolution Forum (AGRF) Summit, which will take place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
  • Receive mentorship and get linkage support
  • Get continent-wide publicity for the work they do

Eligibility

This competition is open to persons who meet these criteria:
  • Must not be older than 35 years at the time they enter the competition, and should be legally recognized as an adult in their country
  • They must be the founder or co-founder of the enterprise they are representing
  • They should have no criminal record (related to corruption, tax evasion, financial wrongdoing, felony, or others)

  • Their business should be a for-profit organization and be financially sustainable
  • The business may be involved in any of these areas: agri-food research and development, farming proper, nutrition, irrigation, mechanization, crop protection, transport, hydroponics and urban farming, packaging and marketing, waste management, renewable energy for agriculture, digital technology solutions.
