  Access Corporation, the parent company of Access Bank, is organizing the Women Digital Entrepreneurship Program (WDEP) for businesswomen in Nigeria. This initiative, it aims to equip female entrepreneurs with the skills they need to digitize their businesses and take advantage of the growth potential that the online space offers their ventures.

The WDEP will encourage more women to set up businesses that leverage digital technology and the web for growth. It also exists to close the digital gender gap, and improve outcomes for women in entrepreneurship, and across the Nigerian commercial landscape.

An In-Program Virtual Bootcamp

The organizers of this program will be putting together a virtual Bootcamp, in which attendees will learn the basics of starting and running a successful online business. The lessons they will receive will cover bookkeeping, creating a pitch deck, pitching their business, presenting their business plan, social media marketing, and other aspects of managing and growing a contemporary enterprise.
  • Note: The virtual Bootcamp will take place between March 13 and March 17, 2023. Individuals who successfully complete the Bootcamp will qualify for a pitching competition slated for March 30.

Benefits

Persons who are selected to take part in this program will benefit from it in the following ways:
  • Learn how to start and grow an online business
  • Discover how to deploy social media and other online platforms to their business’s advantage
  • Prime them to be better at pitching their business and solutions to potential investors
  • Learn how to manage their business’s finances through skilled bookkeeping

Eligibility

This program is open to persons who meet the following criteria:
  • Should be a Nigerian woman aged between 25 and 40 years
  • Have at least an SSCE or OND qualification
  • Be currently either unemployed or underemployed
  • Must either be intending to start a business or be currently running a business with an annual turnover of less than ₦2 million
  • Should have access to the internet
