By Arinze Ude. In preparation for the upcoming Nations Cup qualifiers, the Super Eagles squared off against their Niger counterparts in a friendly match on Wednesday. The Nigerian team comprised of home based players as Coach Stephen Keshi continues to experiment and give the home based teams a run out. Niger featured eight foreign based players in the entertaining match. Niger started the better side going close in the early stages, Boubacar Talatou tried to chip Chigozie Agbim in the Nigerian goal, who picked himself up and went for the save hitting his shoulder against the woodwork. The game was delayed for the Nigerian keeper to receive treatment. After that, it was all Nigeria with Uche Kalu and Sunday Mba coming close to breaking the deadlock but it didn’t come to fruition as the match ended in a goalless draw in Niamey.
