The skin is the largest organ in the body and the most abused quintessentially. Its function includes protecting the body from external & harmful substances and to regulate body temperature.

About 60% of what is applied is absorbed into the body via our bloodstream and it takes roughly about 26 seconds to get in there. Now we may have some people who doubt this but I assure this is very true. Some years back, on my quest to get the best birth control method with little effort, I was introduced to a patch by my doctor. I put this patch on & changed it weekly. Lo and behold I didn’t get pregnant during the 2-year span in which I which I used it. The patch was releasing doses of hormones daily into my body via my bloodstream. According to Telegraph UK, about 5lb of toxic chemicals are absorbed into the body through the skin. Now this is more dangerous than ingesting because during digestion the enzymes in the saliva & stomach break down these chemicals.

Most of these skincare products ingredients have been linked to cancer, damaged organs, hormonal disruption, skin irritation and premature ageing of the skin. David Suzuki in his work reported a number of toxic chemicals that are in many skincare products and should be avoided. These substances are known as oestrogen mimickers, which means that once they enter the bloodstream they appear as oestrogen in the body. Subsequently, an excess of oestrogen can lead to issues relating to infertility.

You have one body, one life. Take charge of it by making a conscious decision on what you are applying on you and your family’s skin.

Nourish and feed your skin with nature’s best.
