The following are some simple tips that can help you to sleep early if you are a late sleeper.

  • Finish your work on time: Whether you need to send emails, do assignments or wash dishes, make sure to do the chores early enough so as to leave ample time for your sleep. Do not let these activities encroach into sleep time. This is where a schedule comes in, you should plan a schedule that leaves enough space for you to finish doing your chores for the day.

  • Ditch the gadgets: How do you expect to sleep early when you spend the entire night staring at your computer? Phones, computers and televisions all give out rays and lights that enter into your eyes signalling to your brain that it is not time to sleep yet. If you would like to sleep early, make it a point to drop the phones and switch off the television so as to prepare your mind and get ready for sleep. This will unconsciously tell you brain that it is time to rest.

  • Eat early: Late night meals are not good for the digestive and nervous systems. Eat your meals on time so as to allow the digestive system to do its work without unnecessary stress. You should also avoid eating large and heavy meals in the nights so that your meal can digest easily and quickly.

  • Set the ambience: The mind is more powerful than you think. Setting the stage for a restful night’s rest will go a long way in helping you sleep early.
