Pseudofolliculitis barbae aka razor bumps or razor burns is a skin condition caused by improper shaving tools and products. When hairs are cut beneath the skin, they tend to curl and bend as they grow back forming bumps. However, there are ways to reduce the irritation caused by these ingrown hairs that cause painful bumps
  • Aloe vera
Aloe vera is very effective in soothing irritated skin.Get an aloe vera plant, cut it and extract the gel inside then apply directly on the irritated skin to get rid of razor bumps
  • Tea tree oil
Tea tree oil is a natural antibacterial agent. Dilute with water before applying on the skin
  • Hydrocortisone cream
It can be found in pharmacies, it has anti-inflammatory effect to help reduce the redness and irritation
  • Tea bags
Used tea bags make a great compress which can be applied on the razor bumps. Put the used tea bags in the freezer for about 10 minutes, then place the cold tea bags on the irritated skin for 20 minutes Whatever you do, don’t scratch or pick the bumps as it will only increase the redness and irritation, properly lubricate before you shave.
